Gloria Y. Mensah is a National Board of Certified Counselor and licensed clinical professional counselor who received her M.A. from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology –DC Campus in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and a B.A. in American Studies with emphasis in Sociology, Psychology and African American Studies from the University of California, Berkeley.

Gloria’s clinical background includes, training and implementing evidence-based practices and working with individuals struggling with substance use disorders, trauma, identity, stress, anxiety and depression. Gloria employs the principles of trauma informed care, cultural competencies and other best practice modalities with transitional age youth (18-25), adults and individuals from immigrant populations, first and second-generation, women of color—specifically women of African descent.

Gloria’s therapeutic approach leads with the notion that healing begins at the awareness of one’s hopes and dreams from the present into the future; and the individual is the center from which healing is directed and achieved.
